Hi! ðŸ˜ƒ

My name is Ria, and I'm currently a junior at Purdue University, busy combining my converging interests in technology and design to pursue a Bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design and minor in Psychology.

At the core of my work, I am most interested in engaging with users, and extending empathy towards understanding the vast pool of experiences and perspectives that come with interacting with people in everyday life.

If I'm not busy doing UX work, I love sketching, painting, and discovering how to experiment with new designs! You can contact me here!

DESIGN PHILOSOPHY

EVOLUTION

When I think about design, I think of confusion and evolution. This is because the way we live keep changing, and with it change the needs and mindsets. It seems to be the perfect point to mention a famous saying –

The only constant in life is change” – Heraclitus

INCLUSION

Another thing that greatly influences design is perspective. Being an international student, my cultural and societal background is quite different to the way things are considered here in the US. As a reflection of this difference, diversity is an extremely important factor of the design process. As a UX Designer, it is vital that we view our consumers as people and not just users. This means that we try to design for people from all walks of life.

Encapsulating that difference and diversity is important for inclusion.

COLLABORATION

A process must come about as a result of collaboration and sharing of ideas. Working in the field of UX has shown me how important each voice is to the process, and thus has provided a space to make opinions heard. In order to ensure that there are no discrepancies among these different voices, working together on the same grounds is a necessity.
